Baby Clinic
Held every Thursday each week at 12pm. 8 week checks with the GP and immunisations with the practice nurse. Access to mothers with pushchairs is through the rear entrance.
Antenatal Clinic
Provision of pre-natal, ante-natal and post-natal care is shared between the Doctor, Midwives and Health Visitors. . The Midwives will ensure that you know the name of the Midwife responsible for your care.
Antenatal Clinics are held every week on Tuesday
Family Planning Services
Including coil fitting, implants and emergency contraception, are provided at the surgery. Both men and women can consult the Doctor and the Practice Nurse for advice on contraception and sexual health, including chlamydia screening for patients between 16 and 24 years. As with all consultations this is completely confidential. The Doctor is happy to discuss unplanned pregnancies in confidence. Coils can be fitted by the Doctor / Nurse.
Other Services
Appointments can also be made with the Practice Nurse for cervical smears, HRT, travel immunisations, and chronic disease management. All newly registered patients are required to have a routine health check.
CHD (Coronary Heart Diseases)/Heart Failure
Annual checks for people with heart problems is carried out by the practice nurse.
Diabetes Check
At Eastgate Surgery you can get regular diabetic check-ups with the nurse.
Asthma/COPD Check
Appointments can be made with the nurse for regular checks.
Hypertension/TIA/Stroke
High blood pressure or hypertension is a common medical condition, and must be monitored regularly.
Stop Smoking
